Town Square’s Crystal Gallery of Ice

On Saturday, on the way to brunch with my parents and husband, it started to rain.  Just a little bit.  But it made us realize how warm it really was (I think it was around 46 degrees at height of thawing…so wrong for January!) and as we drove by town square filled with beautiful ice sculptures, we knew that we needed to return ASAP before they melted into dripping ice blobs.

TEDx Anchorage, March 2012

I was really excited to discover that Anchorage does TEDx.  Really, really excited.  Apparently, the event has been held in previous years, but somehow I missed it.  On one hand, I can’t believe I didn’t know about this (it was held at the library, so I feel like I should have known!) and on the other, I’m excited that it’s something totally new for me to discover.

Congrats U.S. Women’s Team! And Thoughts on XC-Skiing

I have to pile on to the jubilation that is happening right now on Facebook, overseas in Sweden, and in XC skier’s homes all over the U.S because it is so ridiculously exciting:

Our women’s team (Kikkan Randall, Holly Brooks, Jesse Diggins, and Liz Stephen) placed THIRD in the 4 x 5k World Cup relay!
