Anchortown Style, by Amber

“As an Alaskan girl  I have the urge to wear UGG boots and a North Face vest 300 days out of the year (and I’m sure most have been in my shoes at some point); the other 65 days are dedicated to Extra tuffs and flannel button ups. Not to say this look isn’t adorable or extremely comfortable, it just doesn’t fit the part for every occasion. There are a few simple and basic things you can do to add style and class to your everyday wardrobe: when you add the wool mittens with the exposable finger tips and the headband, you have the look to kill and it’s simple to leave the house feeling and looking on point.

My life is hectic in the best way possible! I work as a barista at a local coffee shop, I’m a mom of a 4 month old,  an admin in a professional office and I’m an entrepreneur starting my own business venture. Most days keeping it simple is most important. As you can imagine my closet is kept with a wide variety.  I like to keep my everyday look simple and most importantly adjustable. And by adjustable I add or take away pieces to go from my day time casual look to a simple dinner on the town. By taking off a jean jacket to adding a pair of wedges or pumps, you can turn almost any outfit from day to night.   My go to on the days where I’m rushing out of the house outfit is always a simple black dress, a bright scarf with a pop of colour, a cardigan that compliments a colour in the scarf, and a pair of flats. When you are ready to rock the town, simply remove the flats, scarf, and cardigan and dazzle up the outfit with a classic leather jacket, a fancy necklace and a pair of pumps and you’re ready for an evening concert, a wine tasting or a birthday party.  I also use this method for the random weather changes we often experience in our beautiful state, I keep my cute rain boots and matching rain coat on standby at all times.

Style doesn’t have to be complicated, I hope you find my ideas helpful and maybe use them next time you have a booked agenda with a wardrobe change needed.”
