Visiting the Vet

Cuties

Grover LOVES going to the vet.  This is strange to me – growing up, our dogs were decidedly NOT pro-vet. But Grover trots in, explores excitedly, makes new friends (like these three cuties from our last visit!), stares at cats (he’s still not sure what to make of them), soaks up love from the staff, and then stares at Dr. Pala, his favorite vet, like she’s the most amazing thing he’s ever seen (smelled?).

Of course, this might have something to do with generous treat-giving that occurs, but I think that 99% is due to the fact that everyone I’ve met at the Alaska Vet Clinic genuinely cares for the animals that visit them, is glad to see them, and basically exudes that special something that makes animals trust them.

I love going to the vet because the staff are all incredibly patient with my multiple dog-health questions (it’s amazing the things you think of once you’re responsible for another life, even if it is a furry, four-legged one!) and I get to see so many interested breeds in one place. I think I’d be happy sitting in the waiting room for hours (if only they had treats for humans too!) just watching the ebb and flow of the clinic.

Do your pets like visiting the vet?
