Love Note: Free Hugs

I was walking home the other night, and encountered these two, offering free hugs.

I was in a bit of a hurry, but now I’m wishing I’d stopped for more than a photo – I’m so fascinated by how this moment came into being.  Do they just think there should be more hugs in the world? Is this some sort of sociology experiment?  A new way of picking up chicks?  They were sad and wanted someone to hug them? Were they sitting home one night, drinking beer and eating pizza, and thought, “Hey, you know what would be fun?  Standing outside in the cold with a free hugs sign!  LET’S DO IT!!!”

Regardless of their motivation, I love it! And, there should be more hugs in the world.  Although, I’ve never had to pay for a hug before.  Most hugs are free.  Hmmmm.  Must ponder.  But in the meantime, cheers to free hugs!
