Bubbles.
Big, beautiful, iridescent bubbles, floating around town.

Big bubbles burst with color at Cheney Lake
Jay Hiner creates giant bubbles using a homemade wand and nontoxic solution Tuesday at Cheney Lake in East Anchorage. “I was always interested in science and chemistry,” said Hiner, who got interested in large bubbles only about three weeks ago. “Once I made the first one, I was hooked,” he said. If he tweaks the bubble solution for the conditions, the bubbles can travel far. “On the Park Strip I have sent bubbles over the Chevron Building, and at Westchester Lagoon I have sent them over the radio tower at West High School. When they get up, they go and go and go,” he said. They’re colorful as well. “I call them my daytime northern lights,” said Hiner. “People come by and tell me it brightened their day.”
You should check out the photo gallery; those bubbles are gorgeous, especially against the backdrop of fall… I’d love to see these in person someday.
